Cross Call Feature
The dynamic cross call feature of the disk array unit can be set using management
software (NEC Storage Manager).
Off state of cross call feature (factory-set)
In this state, the disk array unit is accessible from the host adapter (HBA) of the
host system in which the logical disks (LDs) are bound (RAID configured).
On state of cross call feature
In this state, all logical disk numbers (LDNs) are accessible from both
controllers. By using the cross call feature, LDNs can be accessed from the
alternative path even when a controller fails, so that the failure does not affect the
operation.
Note:
To use the alternative path switching feature of the host,
the cross call feature must be turned on.

Note:
Please note that in the management software a
controller is called as HD (Host Director), a logical disk is called as
LD (Logical Disk), and the internal number of LD is called LDN
(Logical Disk Number).
