Connect the components to a properly grounded power source:
Set the voltage selector switch at the back of the system to 115V (U.S. and
Canada) or 230V, if it has not already been done (see Figure 2-1).
Plug the system power cord into the system power socket at the rear of the
chassis.
Plug the system power cord into one of the surge/battery backup outlets on
the UPS (if the system has a UPS), into a surge protector (recommended if the
system does not have a UPS), or into a properly grounded wall outlet.
Plug the monitor power cord into one of the surge/battery backup outlets on
the UPS (if the system has a UPS), into a surge protector (recommended if the
system does not have a UPS), or into a properly grounded wall outlet.
Plug the AC speaker adapter into one of the surge/battery backup outlets on
the UPS (if the system has a UPS), into a surge protector (recommended if the
system does not have a UPS), or into a properly grounded wall outlet.
If a UPS or surge protector is part of the system, plug it into a properly
grounded wall outlet (see Figure 2-7).
