2-6 Setup and Operation
5. Connect the phone or fax cables to the system unit as follows.
„
Unplug the phone or fax cable from the telephone jack on the wall.
„
Plug the free end of the phone or fax cable into the phone jack on the system
(see Figure 2-6).

Connect the phone or fax cable from the system to the wall in one of two
ways:
Through the UPS (if the system is equipped with a UPS):

Plug the telephone cable that came with the system into the line jack on
the system (see Figure 2-6), and into the out jack on the UPS.

Plug the cable that came with the UPS into the in jack on the UPS and
into the telephone jack on the wall.
Directly into the wall:

Plug the telephone cable that came with the system into the line jack on
the system (see Figure 2-6) and into the telephone jack on the wall.
