Performing the closed transmission

• For manual transmission, even if you set the closed transmission to ON,

it remains invalid. Documents will be transmitted even if the destination

machine is of another brand, or the passcodes are different.

• If the display is not in the fax mode, press <Fax> to switch to the fax mode.
• By registering “Closed Tx” to a touch panel key (page 8-52) or soft key (page

8-50), you can easily set the closed transmission to ON/OFF per transmission.

When the closed transmission is set to ON

• When the closed transmission is set to “On”, you can perform the closed

transmission normally.

• You can set the closed transmission “Off” only for one transmission by the

procedure below.

When the closed transmission is set to OFF

Load your document and press <Fax>.

For details on how to load documents, refer to “Loading Documents”

(page 1-59).

Set the resolution and contrast as necessary.

For the setting procedure, refer to “Setting the resolution/contrast” (page

3-13).

Press <Menu>, select “Closed Tx” using the cursor keys, and press
[Enter].
