Reception
Using both the answering machine and fax
(Answering/Fax Mode)
• Set the fax reception mode to the “Ans./Fax Mode” in the user install setting
(page 1-38).
• Connect the answering machine to the external telephone line jack on the
machine (page 1-10).
When the other party transmits a fax

The machine rings at the number of times set in the answering
machine.

Start the reception.
NOTE
• To make the machine ring, you need to set the fax ringer (page 8-36).
• The automatic switch between answering machine and the fax might not work
depending on the answering machine type.
• Automatic reception might not be possible depending on the other party's fax
machine.
• When the answering machine does not operate, because the message memory is full
for example, a fax cannot be received, either.
• Remote reception is not available.

