Receiving phone calls with priority given to fax
(Fax/Tel Mode)
• Set the fax reception mode to the “Fax/Tel Mode” in the user install setting
(page 1-38).
• The fax reception mode continues for a while after receiving a call. Therefore,
in case of a phone call, the calling party is made to wait and charged for the
call.
• To receive a phone call, you need to connect the telephone to this machine.
When the other party transmits a fax

Reception immediately starts without ringing.
NOTE
The machine might ring at fax reception depending on the other fax machine.
When the other party makes a call

The machine rings in a few moments after the reception.
Continuous ringing means the other party is making a call.
For a party who frequently calls you, tell them know in advance that
it will take time to answer the phone.
The other party will already have been kept waiting for a while by
the machine rings, so try to answer the phone as quickly as possible.
An additional phone also rings.

Talk to the other party.
When you hear the beep from the handset, the other party is
transmitting faxes. Press <Start> immediately.


