2.3 Installing the Fluidics Module

2.3 Installing the Fluidics Module

The next step is to install the fluidics module onto the detection module.

Caution:

Use caution during this procedure. Follow these instructions and any instruction

labels on the instrument exactly.

Warning!

Do not remove cover until power is disconnected. Do not operate instrument

unless all covers are in place.

1 Locate fluidics module hardware.

With the cover open, you can see the hinged flange (metal plate) to the left side of the
exposed reading chamber.

Notice also the two quarter-turn fasteners (Zeus screws) attached to the flange, and
two locating pins near the middle of the reading chamber.

Positioning the Fluidics Module

2 Lift fluidics module into position.

Warning!

You may need two people to continue with this procedure. The fluidics module

is heavy and it may be difficult and awkward to both hold it in place and attach it to the
base.

Lift fluidics module, using the handle, into position over the detection module, just
to the left of the metal flange.

Tilt module up at about 90°, align the quarter-turn fasteners (in the flange) to the
holes in the bottom of the fluidics module.
