Engine General Information and Diagnosis: Bi-Fuel LPG model 1A-38
7 Check “AUTO MODE” operation
1) Select “AUTO MODE”.
2) Start engine.
3) Check fuel change over from petrol to LPG
automatically.
Is it good condition?
Go to Step 8. Go to “Engine Symptom
Diagnosis”: Bi-Fuel LPG
model.
8 Check idle speed
1) Check engine idle speed, when engine running on each
of petrol and LPG. )
Is check result as specified?
Go to Step 9. Go to “Engine Symptom
Diagnosis”: Bi-Fuel LPG
model.
9 Check ignition timing
1) Check ignition timing. ) / )
Is check result as specified?
Go to “Engine Symptom
Diagnosis”: Bi-Fuel LPG
model. Check ignition control

10 Check immobilizer system for operation
1) Check immobilizer control system. )
Is it in good condition?
Check for petrol system:
Go to Step 11.
Check for LPG system:
Go to Step 15. Immobilizer control
system malfunction.
11 Check petrol fuel supply
1) Check to make sure that enough petrol fuel is filled in
fuel tank.
2) Turn ON ignition switch for 2 sec. and then OFF.
3) Repeat Step 2 for 3 times.
Is fuel return pressure (returning sounds) felt from fuel return
hose when ignition switch is turned ON?
Go to Step 13. Go to Step 12.
12 Check fuel pump for operation
Was fuel pump operating sound heard from fuel filler for
about 2 seconds after ignition switch ON and stop?

13 Check ignition spark
1) Check ignition spark. )
Is it in good condition?
Go to Step 14. Go to “Ignition System

14 Check petrol fuel injector for operation
1) Check petrol fuel injector. )
Is it in good condition?
Go to “Engine Symptom
Diagnosis”: Bi-Fuel LPG
model. Go to “Fuel Injector
Circuit Check”: in
Section .
15 Check LPG fuel supply
1) Check that manual valve is opened.
2) Check to make sure that remaining LPG fuel is enough.
“Selector Switch Description (Bi-Fuel LPG Model)”: in
Section 9C
Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 16. Refill LPG fuel.
16 Check shut off valve for operation
1) Check shut off valve operation.
• Shut off valve of LPG pressure regulator: “LPG
Pressure Regulator Inspection”: LPG in Section 1G
• Shut off valve of LPG tank valve: “LPG Pressure
Regulator On-Vehicle Inspection”: LPG in Section 1G
Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 17. LPG shut off valve
malfunction.
