During crane operation
When lifting a load, compensate for the increase in working radius caused by the
bending of the boom by raising the boom, so that the load is lifted vertically and
does not drag, injure helpers or topple into the hoist rope (e.g. from a vehicle or
scaffolding). Inform any banksmen and helpers about this issue as well!
Always set the load down when there is a break in work, and never leave the truck
crane and never shut down the engine while a load is suspended. Always keep
your hands near the control levers as long as a load is suspended on the hook to
allow you to take corrective measures at any time.
Whenever you leave the truck crane, secure it against unauthorised use.
4.4.1
Rated capacity limiter
For increased operational safety the truck crane is equipped with a rated capacity
limiter.
If the truck crane's current rigging mode is entered correctly, the rated capacity
limiter will prevent the permissible lifting capacity being exceeded and the truck
crane being overloaded.
It is generally prohibited to operate the crane if the rated capacity limiter is
switched off, overridden, out of service or defective!
The rated capacity limiter may only be repaired by properly qualified personnel.
Never use the rated capacity limiter as a scale to weigh loads.
The rated capacity limiter only ensures safety in single hook operation (the load
is suspended from one hook block only).
The rated capacity limiter does not ensure safety in two-hook operation (the load
is suspended from two hook blocks and is lifted by two independently operating
hoists);
Depending on the crane type, there are different versions of the rated capacity
limiter. Operation is possible using a control unit or displays. Operation is carried
out in different ways. This section therefore only gives basic information on the
rated capacity limiter. For operation, always observe the supplied
operating
manual
