Checks before operating the crane

Do not assume everything is in working order simply because it was in working 
order yesterday!

Use the appropriate access aids when checking overhead crane parts. Do not 
use parts of the crane as access aids.

Check the condition of the truck crane carefully using the checklists;

Supplied operating manual

Check the fuel, oil, coolant and AdBlue (DEF) levels, if applicable, and all other 
consumables and lubricants. Only use the approved consumables and lubricants 
for topping up;

Supplied maintenance manual

.

Warning tags may have been attached on or in 
the truck crane!

Never start the engine if you find a warning tag at 
any point. Wait until it is removed by the person 
who attached it or by another person who knows 
more about the reasons.

Checks on the outside of the truck crane

Check that all covers and safety devices are fitted properly and that they are in 
good condition.

Remove any ice and snow from the truck crane;

Working with the crane in 

extreme temperatures

Objects used by other persons (e.g. tools or drink bottles) must not be left on your 
truck crane either. Remove these objects to ensure that nobody needs to enter 
the danger area during crane operation.
