Information on driving
This section is not an operating manual!
This section supplements the information in the supplied
operating manual
.
Exhaust gases can kill you! If you need to start the engine within a closed room,
you must always ensure sufficient ventilation!
Bear in mind that auxiliary heaters can also emit exhaust gases.
On truck cranes with thermal exhaust emission control, the exhaust system can
heat up to over 600 °C.
There is a risk of burns, fires and explosion
. Before
use, find out whether this temperature poses a hazard and, if necessary, disable
the exhaust emission control;

Before putting the truck crane into operation, all maintenance work and repair
work must be completed!
After a lightning strike, always have
Manitowoc Crane Care
check the truck crane
before you drive the truck crane – even if you do not notice any impairment to its
operation. Electronic components may be damaged by a lightning strike and may
fail unexpectedly, either immediately or during subsequent operation.

Before driving
Only use the access aids provided to climb on and off your truck crane. Do not
use parts of the crane as access aids. Only use the hand grips provided for hold-
ing. Never support yourself on control levers, consoles, hoses or cables. Always
make sure you have a secure footing and a firm hold, especially in wet conditions.
Never jump off your truck crane, unless in an emergency.
Checks before driving
Do not assume everything is in working order simply because it was in working
order yesterday!
Use the appropriate access aids when checking overhead crane parts. Do not
use parts of the crane as access aids.
Check the condition of the truck crane carefully using the checklists;
