Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tank

This engine uses a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
system. SCR is a technology that uses a urea based DEF
and a catalytic converter to significantly reduce oxides of
nitrogen (NOx) emissions.

The DEF tank (1, Figure 6-56) incorporates a fluid level
sending unit and a heating element to keep the DEF from
freezing.

When the indicator in the dash illuminates (see Figure 3-5)
add DEF into the tank.
