Initialise the diagnostic tool
Record the DTC and clear
Turn ignition OFF
Turn ignition ON
Verify if P0504 is present?

Is P0504 present?

Intermittent problem exists
Refer the intermittent problem
inspection procedure

Ensure that the brake switch is
adjusted properly (refer repair
manual for procedure)
Ensure proper functioning of
15A fuse (F44) in engine
compartment fuse box
Brake switch wiring harness
connector(C112) DISCONNECTED
Ignition ON

Check the voltage between pin
3 of the brake switch wiring
harness connector and battery
ground
Check the voltage between pin
1 of the brake switch wiring
harness connector and battery
ground

Is the value =Vbat?

Examine the open /short circuit
in brake switch power supply
wire
Replace the wiring harness
Clear the DTC and verify

Ignition OFF
EMS ECU wiring harness
connector (C4) DISCONNECTED
Brake switch wiring harness
connector(C112) DISCONNECTED

Check the continuity between
pin 4 of the brake switch wiring
harness connector and pin 24 of
the EMS ECU wiring harness
connector
Check the continuity between
pin 2 of the brake switch wiring
harness connector and pin 80 of
the EMS ECU wiring harness
connector

Is the continuity

exists?

Examine the open circuit in
brake switch signal wires to EMS
ECU
Replace the wiring harness
Clear the DTC and verify
