STEP 1
Connect the smart tester
Turn the ignition ON
Initialise the diagnostic tool
Record the DTC and clear
Turn ignition OFF
Turn ignition ON
Verify if P0113 is present?
Is P0113 present?
Intermittent problem exists
Refer the intermittent problem
inspection procedure
STEP 2
Is the value =5 ± 0.25
V?
Ignition OFF
HFM sensor wiring harness
connector (C19) DISCONNECTED
Ignition ON
Check the voltage between pin
4 of the HFM sensor wiring
harness connector and battery
ground
STEP 3
Go to STEP 4
If the Voltage is greater than
5.25V , check for short to
battery of the HFM air
temperature temperature signal
wire
Ignition OFF
HFM sensor wiring harness
connector (C19) DISCONNECTED
EMS ECU wiring harness
connector (C4) DISCONNECTED
Check the continuity between
pin 77 EMS ECU wiring harness
connector and pin 4 of the of
the HFM sensor wiring
harness connector
Is the continuity
exists?
Examine the open circuit of
HFM sensor air intake
temperature signal wire
Replace the wiring harness
Clear the DTC and verify
Suspect EMS ECU malfunction
Replace EMS ECU with a new
one.
Check and verify for any new
DTC’s
