CAMSHAFT SENSOR SIGNAL OFFSET ERROR.
CAMSHAFT (SEGMENT SPEED) SENSOR
Hall Effect camshaft position sensor senses the Top dead center (TDC) point of the # 1 cylinder in the
compression stroke ,which allows the ECU to determine when to start the injection. The trigger is
mounted in the exhaust camshaft
DTC INFORMATION
PROBABLE CAUSES OF FAILURE
NORMAL OPERATION
Ignition ON
During engine cranking , the EMS ECU compares the
crankshaft sensor signal and cam shaft position sensor signal
and the deviation is within the range
DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS
Ignition ON
EMS ECU supply voltage 8-16V
While engine cranking,the cam shaft position sensor and
crankshaft speed sensor are not synchronized.
DTC REACTIONS
Engine check lamp continuously ON.
Engine will not start
If this failure occurs when the engine is running then engine
will keep on running
HEALING CONDITION
Ignition Off/On
Increased air gap between
cam shaft position sensor
and the trigger wheel.
Increased air gap between
crank shaft speed sensor
and the trigger wheel.
Sensor mountings loosened
Timing disturbed
