STEP 1
Connect the smart tester
Turn the ignition ON
Initialise the diagnostic tool
Record the DTC and clear
Turn ignition OFF
Turn ignition ON
Verify if P0229 is present?
Is P0229 present?
Intermittent problem exists
Refer the intermittent problem
inspection procedure
STEP 2
Ignition OFF
Check the air filter for clogging
NO
YES
Is the air filter
clogged ?
Replace the air filter with a new
one
Clear the DTC and verify
YES
Check for any leakage in air
intake system
Check for any leakage in vacuum
hose to boost pressure actuator
STEP 3
Is leakage noticed ?
Rectify the leakage
Clear the DTC and verify
Check for any leakage in exhaust
system before turbocharger
STEP 4
Is leakage noticed ?
Rectify the leakage
Clear the DTC and verify
Suspect malfunction of boost
pressure actuator
Replace the boost pressure
actuator with a new one
Clear the DTC and verify
