STEP 1
Connect the smart tester
Turn the ignition ON
Initialise the diagnostic tool
Record the DTC and clear
Turn ignition OFF
Turn ignition ON
Verify if P1C87 is present?
Is P1C87 present?
Intermittent problem exists
Refer the intermittent problem
inspection procedure
STEP 2
Check and verify the last fuel
filter change kilometers
Is the DTC registered in
< 2000 kms after fuel
filter change?
Replace the fuel filter with anew
one
Clear the DTC and verify
STEP 3
Carry out the fuel system
bleeding at the injector nuts
Check and verify for the DTC
Is the DTC still
present?
STEP 4
Replace the fuel filter with a
new one
Check and verify for the DTC
Is the DTC still
present?
Clean the fuel strainer and fuel
lines
Check and verify for the DTC
STEP 5
Is the DTC still
present?
Diagnosis completed
