SPOTTING
There are multiple means of
spotting yourself.
•
Staggered Stance
– When
standing on an angle you
may simply move one foot
backward or forward to give
yourself added stability (D and
E).
•
Cradling
– A technique to
stabilize your
non-working arm and
shoulder versus placing entire
bodyweight on said shoulder
(F).
• For more security when
holding the handles, you may
slide your hands into the
handles (G).
• Different spotting techniques
will be reviewed as we go
through the exercises.
HAND POSITIONS
• Pronated – Palms or body (on
stomach) facing downward
(H).
• Supinated – Palms or body (on
back) facing upward (I).
• Neutral – Palms facing towards
each other (handshake
position) (J).
