6.5.2.4.5 Customizing the placement process in the [Placement] tab
The placement process involves picking up the component from the glass plate or
dip module and putting it down onto the PCB.
You can now adjust the placement process to your requirements. You can make
settings affecting [Automation] and [Placement mode] and define target coordin-
ates for component placement.

To adjust the placement process:
a) Enable the [Profiles] tab in the [Placement] window.

Automation
The use of the DIP & Print station is described in document [3BA00199]. The DIP &
Print Template picture shows No. 21 in the Overview of the machine parts [
52].
When using a DIP & Print Station, the following functions are available to automate
the placement process :
[No automation]: in this case, the component must lie on the glass plate. The fol-
lowing steps are performed automatically:
– The head moves to the landing surface.
– The pick-and-place nozzle collects the component on the glass plate and aligns
it.
– The pick-and-place nozzle places the component onto the landing surface.
[Auto. Print]: in this case, the print template must be incorporated and the com-
ponent lie on the print template. The following steps are performed automatically:
– The head moves to the landing surface.
– The pick-and-place nozzle collects the component on the print template and
moves to the glass plate. Here, the component is aligned.
