This command adds a protocol-based VLAN group to the system. The <

group-name>

is a character

string of 1 to 16 characters. When it is created, the protocol group will be assigned a unique number that
will be used to identify the group in subsequent commands.

Syntax

switchport protocol group <group-name>
no switchport protocol group <group-name>

<group-name> -

a VLAN Group Name (a character string of 1 to 16 characters).

no -

This command removes the protocol-based VLAN group that is identified by this <group-name>.

Default Setting

None

Command Mode

Global Config

This command adds all physical interfaces to the protocol-based VLAN identified by <

group-name>

. A

group may have more than one interface associated with it. Each interface and protocol combination can
only be associated with one group. If adding an interface to a group causes any conflicts with protocols
currently associated with the group, this command will fail, and the interface(s) will not be added to the
group.

Syntax

switchport protocol group all <group-name>
no switchport protocol group all <group-name>

This command removes all interfaces from this protocol-based VLAN group that is identified by
