3. Place the jumper plug on both pins.
4. Apply power to the MT1200.
5. Observe the LEDs on the front of the MT1200. Each LED will light in turn, starting
with Power, and ending with GPS status.
6. After the LED test, observe on the computer display (your terminal program must be
set at 19200 baud):
Erase user parameters? (Y/N)
Enter Y or N
Erase GPS log? (Y/N)
Enter Y or N
Verify GPS log? (Y/N)
Enter Y or N
Do IO test? (Y/N)
Enter Y or N
Turn unit off and remove jumper plug
7. Turn power off.
8. Return jumper J1 to the normal position (plug on one pin only).
9. Reassemble the MT1200 and return to operation.
If you choose Y at the “Erase user parameters?” prompt, all changes to parameters will
be cleared. The next power on of the MT1200 will be as starting a new unit, from
autobaud. If you choose N, parameter changes will be retained, and those parameters
will be in effect at the next power on.
If you choose Y at the “Erase GPS log?” prompt, all stored GPS data will be erased. If
you choose N, any data in the GPS log will remain.
If you choose Y at the “Verify GPS log?” prompt, the GPS log will be checked for
garbled or errant data. If you choose N, no check will be made.
If you choose Y at the “Do IO test?” prompt, the next screen will show all input line
status, GPS status, temperature, and will allow toggling of all output lines and LEDs.
Note, that toggling status of RS232 output lines may affect communication from the
MT1200 to the computer. If you choose N, the self-test routine will end, and the prompt
“Turn unit off and replace jumper” will be displayed.
