The default submode names are:
• Phaco – Phaco 1, Phaco 2, Phaco 3, Phaco 4
• I/A – IA 1, IA 2, IA 3
• VIT – ICA, IAC
• DIA – Diathermy 1, Diathermy 2
Each submode includes:
• Active : If this checkbox is checked (enabled), this submode can be used during surgery. If
unchecked, this submode is disabled (grayed out on the left), and if tapped, will not
navigate or allow you to use it. If you use the remote control and/or foot pedal switches
assigned to next submode or next active submode, disabled submodes will be skipped and
navigate to the next active submode. NOTE: There must be at least one Phaco submode
active in a program. If there is only one active Phaco submode, its Active checkbox will be
grayed out for unchecking/disabling (see
Figure 6-6 ).
• Restore Submode : Restores all changes made to the current submode to what it was
previously saved as.
NOTE: Submodes and their parameters are saved with their program. You cannot create
additional submodes or delete them, you can only rename them.
The primary settings in the submodes are:
• Aspiration
• Vacuum
• Power
• Cut Rate (Vitrectomy)
• Total Height
• Pump Type (Peristaltic or Venturi)
• Delivery Mode (Panel or Linear)

Linear – Provides a gradual increase based on the foot pedal position.

Panel – Provides a full and immediate increase when the foot pedal is pressed.
