6.7.- Coffee brewing assembly.
This is the mechanism that pushes the water through the coffee. It uses a
mechanical cam lever system driven by a
43 W
motor, with a speed of
8 r.p.m
and a
power supply of
220 V
and
50 Hz
that follows the working cycle described below:
1.
When the doser coil is activated it opens the doser and the coffee falls through
gravity to the inside of the coffee assembly infusion chamber.
2.
The coffee assembly turns to infusion position (it is initially in standby position).
This takes place when the motor for the relevant assembly is activated to
move the lower filter up to the closure of the infusion chamber to compress the
ground coffee.
3.
The water comes out of the air-break, where it is kept at a constant level, and it
is introduced into the boiler by a pump. The same amount of water, already
heated, is sent to the coffee assembly after a solenoid valve is enabled. The
water comes into contact with the coffee in the infusion chamber and infusion
takes place. The coffee is then sent to the cup.
4.
The grounds puck is discarded to the spent coffee ground bin.
5.
The coffee assembly returns to standby position and the cycle is complete.
This assembly allows for brewing of coffee doses between 5.5 g and 7.5 g
±0.5 g. Depending on the amount of coffee desired, the brewing chamber has two
positions, to allow for proper compression. It is recommended that, for amounts
between 5.5 g and 6.5 g, the brewing chamber be placed in the lower position and for
quantities between 6.5 g and 7.5 g, in the upper position (see figure 6.06). To change
the position of the brewing chamber, loosen the four screws that hold it in place and
move it, fitting its teeth into the desired position and then tighten the four screws again.

i
The brewing assembly has two metal filters. The lower filter is located in the
infusion chamber, and the upper filter the brewing chamber. These filters should be
cleaned periodically. To do this you need to remove the coffee assembly, following the
instructions indicated in section 5.4 of this manual and put the assembly under running
water, making sure the filters are properly washed.
F
It is very important that, when you have removed the brewing assembly
for cleaning or other purposes, when you are going to put the assembly in place
again you should place it so that the plate that joins the moving wheel and the
infusion chamber so it can move coincides with the arrow that appear on the
cover of the coffee assembly (this way, the cam that moves the assembly will
coincide with the driving wheel). Otherwise, the brewing assembly may get stuck
and the machine will be left out of service.
