7. After allowing time for the oil to set-
tle, check the level of the oil. Then,
if necessary, add further oil, refit the
filler plug.

Clean the linkage pump oil strainer
every 1000 hours.
1. Drain the oil by removing the two drain
plugs (Fig. 40).
2. Remove the three bolts (2) and wash-
ers securing the cover plate (3) to the
bottom of the centre housing.
3. Remove the clip (5), nut (6), spring (7),
washer (8) and ‘0’ ring (9).
4. Pull out the strainer and the shroud (10).
5. Thoroughly clean the strainer in paraf-
fin.
6. Check that the ‘0’ ring is seated in the
pump, then refit the shroud and the
strainer (10).
7. Refit the ‘0’ ring (9), washer (8), spring
(7), nut (6) and the clip (5).

8. Using a new gasket (4), refit the cover
plate (3), with the three bolts (2) and
washers.
9. Refit the two drain plugs.
10. Refill the transmission with an ap-
proved oil.
Note
After changing the oil and filter, run
the engine and check for leaks, then re-
check the transmission dipstick oil level
and if necessary, top up.
Power steering pump and reservoir
(Fig. 43)
Check the power steering oil level
every 100 hours, and top up if neces-
sary.
Warning
Notify your ITMCO Dealer if any leak-
age from the system occurs, for investi-
gation and rectification.
Caution
Check the fluid level only when it is
cool. Never run the engine unless there
is sufficient fluid in the pump reservoir.
DO NOT overtighten the plug.
