Firmware Update
Caution!
Function loss due to faulty update!
The INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 may loose its function, if it is up-
dated with a wrong firmware or if the transfer of the firmware
was faulty.
Before updating the firmware of the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1,
contact the INSYS MICROELECTRONICS support department.
They will provide you with the suitable firmware version for
your INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 .
The firmware of the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 can be updated to add further functions to
the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 or to improve the existing functions. A firmware update can
be performed with the help of a terminal program that supports ASCII uploads (e.g. Ter-
aTerm).

How to load new firmware to the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1.

You will need a terminal program that supports ASCII file transfers, such as
TeraTerm.

You may need the HSComm software to find out the baud rate of the INSYS
WLAN serial 2.1.

You will need the appropriate firmware for your INSYS WLAN serial 2.1.

The INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 is connected to the PC.
1. Find out the current baud rate of the serial interface of the INSYS WLAN se-
rial 2.1.

In order to find out the baud rate, you can use the HSComm software. You
can synchronise the serial interface of PC and INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 there
using the "Synchronize RS232" button (Figure 5, page 43, position 4). The
software displays the current baud rate as well as the data format of the
INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 then in the "Serial Interface" panel (Figure 6, page 44
position 1). Set the baud rate to 57600 baud here. Send the values to the
INSYS WLAN serial 2.1. Close HSComm subsequently.
2. Start your terminal program.
3. Activate hardware handshake in the terminal program.
4. Set the baud rate in the terminal program to 57600 baud.
5. Open the serial interface, to which the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 is connected.
