Configuring Remote Maintenance via Telnet
You can access the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 via the Telnet protocol using the remote main-
tenance function. You can use the HSComm software to configure the INSYS WLAN serial
2.1 or AT commands and any Telnet client to handle more complex configuration and
control tasks. Configure the Telnet protocol as interface, the IP address of the INSYS
WLAN serial 2.1, as well as the remote maintenance password and the user name in
HSComm that HSComm can access the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 via Telnet. Reading and
writing the values will then always be performed via Telnet protocol.
The default setting is "
insys
" as user name and "
insys
" as password. The remote configu-
ration is enabled.
Configuration with HSComm
In order to use
HSComm for remote maintenance
, configure "Telnet" in the in-
terface settings (via the menu item "Interface", see Figure 5, page 43, position
16). Enter the IP address of the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 to be configured as well
as its remote maintenance user name and password.
Click on the "Read Settings" button (Figure 5, page 43, position 9) to
retrieve
the settings
of the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 as usual.
Configuration with AT commands
In order to
enable or disable remote configu-
ration
or configure the port for Telnet access,
use the command
AT#TEL=<n>
In order to
disable remote configuration

In order to enable remote configuration on the
standard Telnet port
23, use the command
AT#TEL=23
In order to
specify the user name
