Initial Operation INSYS WLAN serial 2.1
Configuring the access point
If you want to operate the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 in a network with infra-
structure mode , you will need a WLAN access point to test a successful
commissioning. How to configure a test WLAN for simulating the network
environment in which the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 is to be operated later.

The configuration described here serves as example. It serves to test the
configuration examples described in this manual. If you are already familiar
with the configuration of WLAN devices, you may also make your own con-
figuration here.

Have a WLAN access point and the associated manual ready.

The PC for configuring the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 must have access to a
wired network, in which the access point can be operated.
1. Commission the access point as described in the associated manual.
2. Set the IP address of the access point that you can reach it from the network,
in which your PC is.

If your PC has the IP address 192.168.1.25 for example, assign the IP ad-
dress 192.168.1.26 to the access point for example.
3. Disable the DHCP service of the access point.
4. Configure an SSID in the access point, for example "WLANDEMO".
5. Note the SSID with case sensitivity.

