or XFP optical transceiver” on page 96, particularly for the mSFPs.

Disconnect all cables from the CP8 and CR8 blades.

Disconnect any ICL cables.
Removing components from the chassis
Attention:
Before removing any components, refer to “Safety notices and labels”
on page xv, and particularly to “Rack safety” on page xxii to ensure that any
component removals and installations do not affect the stability of the cabinet.

Follow ESD precautions (see “ESD precautions” on page xxi)
You must remove the field replaceable units (FRUs) from the SAN768B chassis in
the order listed below. Refer to the instructions in Chapter 5, “Removing and
installing components,” on page 69 for component-specific removal instructions.
1.
Remove the cable management comb as described in “Removing and installing
a cable management comb” on page 70.
2.
Remove the port blades or filler panels as described in “Removing and
installing port, application, and encryption blades” on page 71 and “Removing
and installing blade filler panels” on page 75.
3.
Remove the FR4-18i router blades (if any), as described in “Removing and
installing an FR4-18i router blade” on page 84.
4.
Remove the core switch blades (CR8) as described in “Removing and installing
a core switch blade (CR8)” on page 82
5.
Remove the control processor blades (CP8) as described in “Removing and
installing a control processor blade (CP8)” on page 76.
6.
Remove the power supply units or filler panels as described in “Removing and
installing a power supply” on page 88.
7.
Remove the blower assembly as described in “Removing and installing a
blower assembly” on page 91.
8.
Remove the WWN bezel and card as described in “Installing the WWN bezel
and WWN card” on page 95.
Removing and replacing the chassis from the cabinet
Although the empty chassis is lighter than a fully populated chassis, a lifting
device is still required to move it. Refer to “Removing a SAN768B from the
cabinet” on page 28 for more detailed instructions on removing a SAN768B from a
cabinet. The instructions below only provide an outline of the steps required to
complete this process.

Attention:
Do not place a SAN768B chassis directly on the floor. It cannot be
easily moved from the floor back onto a lift or pallet.

cabinet” on page 28 for detailed steps) and place it onto an extra lift or on the
