Port module failure

Severity:

Major

Explanation:

A failure associated with a four-port hardware module has been detected. The amber Service Required LED is
illuminated on each of the module’s four contiguous ports.

Action:

Perform data collection procedure for the switch using the EFC Manager, save the data file to the EFC Server Zip
drive. Return the CD to IBM for analysis. Perform a system power-on reset. If the problem persists, replace the
switch.

Event Data:

Byte 0 = Slot position

03 = Hot plug/power up diagnostics failure acknowledgment
04 = Board ready timeout
05 = Read of module ID failed
