Working with Adapters

Removing Adapters

Before you begin:

Read “Electrical Safety” on page 45 and “Handling
Static-Sensitive Devices” on page 46.

Turn off the server.

Disconnect all external cables and power cords; then, remove
the server cover (see “Removing the Cover” on page 49).

1. Remove the adapter:

a. Note the expansion-slot position of the adapter that you are

removing.

b. Loosen and remove the screw on top of the adapter bracket.

c. If there are any internal cables attached to the adapter,

disconnect them.

d. Carefully pull the adapter out of the slot.
