3. Make sure the drivers side hinge is securely
set in notch 1 and follow the same procedure
to raise the passenger side hinge to notch 2
(the bottom notch).
4. Raise the driver’s side to notch 2.
5. Double the check hinges to make sure each
side is set completely in notch 2.
6. Check the front of the hood to confirm that it
is secured with the safety latch. The hood is
now in the ventilation position and ready for
work mode.
Note:
The hood can be opened to access the engine
compartment with the hinges set to ventila-
tion or drive position.
7. Reverse the process to return the hood to the
driving position.
WARNING
NEVER OPERATE THE TRUCK IN DRIVE MODE AT SPEEDS
EXCEEDING 15 MPH WITH THE HOOD RAISED TO THE
VENTILATION POSITION. THE HOOD IS NOT DESIGNED TO
BE OPERATED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN THIS POSITION.
WIND PRESSURE AND BUFFETING EXPERIENCED AT
HIGHWAY SPEEDS COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HINGES
AND/OR HOOD LATCH WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE HOOD
OPENING SUDDENLY AND HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. THIS
WILL CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK AND COULD
CAUSE INJURY TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. THE
OPEN HOOD COULD ALSO BLOCK THE DRIVER’S VISIBILITY
WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. ALWAYS MAKE
SURE THE HOOD IS LOWERED TO THE DRIVE POSITION AND
IS SECURELY LATCHED IN THE FULL CLOSED POSITION
BEFORE OPERATING THE TRUCK ABOVE 15 MPH.
