Stripe Hog Systems
When Discharge mode is selected, the automatic
float switch is bypassed and the pump will con
-
tinue to run until most of the water is removed
from the tank and the switch is manually returned
to the Normal position. The discharge flow from
the pump must be continuously monitored while
operating the system in Discharge mode and
the switch set back to the Normal position when
pumping is complete. To avoid damage to the
pump, always return the Discharge Pump switch
to Normal as soon the tank is empty and never
leave the switch in Discharge mode.
The debris water pump is a heavy duty, diaphragm
pump. It is protected from large debris that could
damage the pump by an in-line strainer on the
intake side. The strainer canister is equipped with
a valve for back flushing or draining the canis
-
ter. The screen should be removed and cleaned
periodically or if it becomes clogged. The back
flushing option can be used to restore water flow if
necessary. Always make sure the vacuum blower
is deactivated and set the Water Divert switch to
the OFF position when cleaning or back flushing
the strainer. Refer to the General Maintenance
section of this manual for instructions on cleaning
or back flushing the strainer.
The debris tank water level and pump out system
must be monitored periodically during operation
and cleaned as necessary. If the intake hose
should become restricted or the pump fails, the
manual 4” valve at the bottom of the tank can be
used to drain the tank provided there is no vacuum
in the system.
It is important that the Water Divert switch is
turned ON with the Debris Pump switch set to
Normal to activate the pump and float switch when
automatic water level control in the debris tank is
desired. Always turn the Water Divert switch ON
just prior to activating the vacuum system and
turn the switch OFF just after shutting down the
truck or when pumping dirty water from the tank
is not desired.
Dumping Debris
Solid debris (larger than 100 microns) is separated
from the waste water by the filter and needs to
be dumped when the debris tank is near full. Hy-
draulic rams on below the tank lift the passenger
side, causing the tank to tilt for easy dumping.
To dump the solid debris, position the truck for
dumping and make sure it is on level, solid ground.
Put the truck in neutral, set the engine speed to

OMSI Drive PTO. This will deactivate the UHP
pump and vacuum blower. Depress the clutch,
turn the transmission PTO switch ON and put the
transmission in third gear. Make sure the TRUCK

sure the Water Divert switch is ON and set the
Debris Pump switch to Discharge. Pump as much
water out of the tank as possible. Then remove
the two clamps at the bottom of the debris tank
door by turning them counter clockwise. Put
pressure against the door to hold it closed as the
last clamp is removed. The door is held open by
a gas spring that will open the door automatically
as soon as the last clamp is removed. It is normal
for some water to pour out as the door opens so
you should be prepared to step back as the last
clamp is removed.
