By accepting the previous display, the patient circuit automatic calibration will start.
There is a bar indicating the progress of the calibration, and below it, the name of
the task being executed is shown. These tasks are:
• Check for leaks in the circuit.
• PEEP valve calibration.
• Expiratory pneumotachograph calibration.
• O
2
sensor calibration.
• Circuit complinace calculation.
NOTE
• The calibration of the patient circuit must be im -
plemented without the nebulizer connected.
• After the first calibration of a new ventilator (or
when it is moved to a new city) the Mean am-
bient pressure value must be configured. With
this value, the equipment carries out volume
compensations that are essential for the effec-
tive functioning of the ventilator. See Menu
chapter to learn the procedure.

The patient circuit integrity is checked at the beginning of the calibration. When a
continuous leak occurs from any part of the circuit, and is less than 10 L/min, the
message appearing in Fig. 5-6 is shown, which indicates the magnitude of the leak.
According to the leak warning, you can continue with the calibration by pressing the
rotary knob, or recalibrate the circuit pressing
[Esc] .
If a leak less than 10 L/min is accepted, an on-screen message is displayed per-
manently showing the magnitude of the recorded leak. The message is placed in
the Icons and messages Bar.
