Menu

 chapter describes the characteristics of this type of ventilation and its 

configuration. It is not strictly an operative mode such as those described in this 

chapter. This is a safety tool that is used in conjunction with the spontaneous mo-
des to provide ventilation in the event of apnea, or decreased ventilatory effort.
