WARNING
• No remnants of organic material must be left
onto the walls of the parts which make up the
patient circuit. It is important to conduct a
proper cleaning of the items to be sterilized.
PRECAUTION
• Do not use pure alcohol, cleaning solutions con -
taining alcohol, or cleaning products containing
conditioners, on any part.
• Ethylene oxide can alter the plastic surfaces and
accelerate the wear of the rubber components.
• Do not use solvents, acetone, chloroform, or
strong acid-based substances, nor chlorinated
solvents to clean the plastic parts, hoses or pa-
tient circuit.
• Do not immerse the base of the humidifier/heater
in any type liquid. Danger of short-circuiting may
be present. Refer to the humidifier/heater manual
for the cleaning and sterilization of the device.
To clean the set before the sterilization process, only use mild chlorine-free de-
tergents. Instructions on how to remove the set from the ventilator, and on how
to dismantle it, are found in the chapter
Assembly and installation.
The cleaning
process should be executed carefully due to the presence of a fragile membrane
found within the assembly body, belonging to part of the expiratory pneumotacho-
graph. Do not introduce any sharp or trenchant objects through the openings of the
assembly, or objects which, through their improper use, may threaten the internal
membrane. The deterioration of this membrane can lead to the inadequate functio-
ning of the ventilator.
