Control) Coding/Pairing

TocodetheIFCtothehandheldremote,followthe

procedurebelow:

1.Openthebottomfrontaccesspaneloftheunit.

NOTE:EnsurethatthemainON/OFFswitchisin

theONposition.(Unitwillnotfunction,unless
itisinONposition)

A wall thermostat may be installed if desired.
Connectthewiresasperthewiringdiagrams.

Note: Preferable if the thermostat is installed 
on an interior wall.

Regency

®

 offers an optional programmable

thermostat but any 250-750 millivolt rated non-
anticipatortypethermostatthatisCSA,ULCor
ULapprovedmaybeused.

CAUTION

Do not connect the wall 

thermostat wires 

to the 120V wires.

Final Check

Beforeleavingthisunitwiththecustomer,theinstaller
must ensure that the appliance is firing correctly.
Thisincludes:

1. Clocking the appliance to ensure the correct

firingrate(ratenotedonlabel)at15minutes.

2. Ifrequired,adjustingtheprimaryairtoensure

thattheflamedoesnotcarbon.Firstallowthe
unittoburnfor15min.tostabilize.

3. Checkforproperdraft.

CAUTION

Any alteration to the product that causes sooting 
or carboning that results in damage to the exterior 
facia is not the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Back Up Battery

In the event of a power outage the unit may be
operatedbyabackupbatterysystem.

1.Opentheaccesspaneloftheunitandunscrew

the 2 screws from each side from the valve
coverplate.

2.Install4AAbatteriesintothebatteryholder.

3.Install3AAAbatteriesintohandheldremote.

4.Presstheblackbuttonontheleftsidepanel(when

facingunit)until3beepsareheard.

5.PresstheON/OFFbuttononthehandheld

remotetocodetheremotetothereceiver–af-
ter4beepsareheard–handheldispairedwith
receiver.

Manual Operation
(No Remote)

Todivorcetheremotetransmitter,presstheblack
buttonuntilitbeeps3times,within10secondspress
theblackbuttonagainuntilabeepisheard.
Afterdivorcingtheremotetransmitter,theON/OFF
switchatthefrontoftheunitwillcontroltheunit.

Note: Removethebatterieswhennormalopera-

tionisresumedastheheatwilldrainthebat-
terypowerrapidly.

2.Plugin120voltpowercordintoagrounded

receptacleorinstall4AAbatteriesintobattery
packandplugintobatteryterminalslocated
nearthegasvalve.Donotuseboth.Onlyuse
the4AAbatteriesif120voltpowerisnot
present.
