Where To Locate
The 10 Series
Where you will locate the 10 Series depends on what other water treatment
equipment you currently have installed. The 10 Series should be located:

Keep in mind that you need to have a drain available nearby for waste water.
In placing the 10 Series, consider the following:

Install the 10 Series ahead of the water heater to prevent build-up of hard
water deposits in the water heater. This placement will maintain the water
heater efficiency.

Install pressure-reducing valve if inlet pressure exceeds 90 psi (620 kPa).

A minimum of 10 feet (3 m) of 3/4" (19 mm) pipe from the outlet of the
water conditioner to the inlet of the water heater is recommended to
reduce the potential for hot water back flowing into the valve.
