Garbled terminal display
To resolve the problem, verify that the following settings are configured for the terminal, for example,
HyperTerminal:
•
Baud rate
—9600.
•
Data bits
—8.
•
Parity
—none.
•
Stop bits
—1.
•
Flow control
—none.
When you modify the settings for the console port of the switch, configure the same settings for the
console terminal.
Troubleshooting the switch during the operation
To resolve the problem, use
display
commands to examine the configuration for configuration errors or
examine statistics for exceptions.
If any configuration error is found, re-configure the switch or restore the factory-default settings. For more
information, see
H3C S12500-X Switch Series Fundamentals Configuration Guide.
Power supply system failure
If the switch is operating correctly, the LEDs for the power modules are in the following states:
•
On the MPU, the power module OK LED is on and the FAIL LED is off.
•
On the power modules, the input and output LEDs are steady green.
For more information, see "
On an MPU, if the OK LED is off and FAIL LED is on, faults have occurred in the power supply system. You
can determine whether a power module is faulty by examining the LEDs on it. A power module is faulty
if its input and output LEDs are off, or its fault LED is on. To view the power module LEDs, you must remove
the plastic panel from the chassis. For more information, see "
For an S12510-X AC/S12510-X DC switch, the PWR LED on the front panel of the chassis indicates the
operating status of the power modules.
•
If the PWR LED is green, all power modules are operating correctly.
•
If the PWR LED is red, a minimum of one power module is faulty.
When all the power modules are operating correctly, the OK LED is on and the FAIL LED is off on the MPU.
If a power module is faulty, the OK LED is off and the FAIL LED is on.
After a power module is disconnected from its power source, the input and output LEDs on the power
module stay ON for several seconds.
