Replacement procedures
CAUTION:
When replacing FRUs while the switch is running, be aware of electrical safety hazards.
The switch uses a modular, hot-swappable architecture, and supports field replaceable units (FRUs). You
can replace any of FRUs when the switch is running.
Replacing a power module
WARNING!
•
Strictly follow the procedures shown in
and
to replace a power module to avoid
device damage or bodily injury.
•
When replacing a power module while the switch is running, be aware of electrical safety hazards.
•
Add a circuit breaker to the power line for each power module. Before replacing a power module,
turn off its circuit breaker.
•
The power module might be of high temperature. Remove it with caution.
•
To install the removed power module to the chassis again, install it after the status LED on it is off.

The procedures for replacing power modules in an S12510-X AC switch and an S12516-X AC switch are
the same. This section describes how to replace a power module in an S12510-X AC switch.
To replace a power module:
1.
Prepare an antistatic mat to place the removed power module.
2.
Turn off the circuit breaker.
3.
Wear an ESD wrist strap, and make sure it makes good skin contact and is reliably grounded. For
more information, see "
4.
Remove the plastic panel from the front panel. For more information, see "
."
5.
Push the latch at the lower left of the power module outward, and open the power module panel.
6.
Hold both sides of the power module to pull the power module out.
7.
Close the power module panel and push the latch inward.
8.
Put the removed power module on the antistatic mat.
