Use the following formula to calculate the empty weight CG station:

(Tailwheel Weight) (Y) + (Right Main + Left Main Weight) (X)

NOTE
“X” and “Y” in the above formula are the stations of the main and
tailwheel axles, respectively. Refer to Figure 5-1.
Following is a sample empty weight CG calculation, using the formula
above and the data from the taildragger Sportsman prototype. The
prototype’s empty weight with a Lycoming O-360 A1F6, a Hartzel 80”
CS prop and 8.50 x 6 tires is 1,363 lb., as follows:
