When an optional smart modem is installed in a H201C i , the network can be accessed
though the public telephone system. The H201C i manages modem operation to allow
receiving and handling phone calls from distant modems, and properly ending the calls.
Conversely, the modem is instructed to dial a distant modem if an alarm is sensed in a
H201T
i (unless this function is disabled by the user).

The Hydran 201 i System is made up of different units assembled in several possible config-
urations to provide a variety of useful combinations for the detection and monitoring of
failure conditions in oil-filled electrical equipment. The following vocabulary and abbrevi-
ations are used to describe the main components of this system:
• Hydran 201T i Intelligent Transmitter: The basic building block; includes the sensor; can
be used in full stand-alone mode. Can be abbreviated as follows:
