The Writeback Cache is used to optimize the write performance specific
to your data patterns. In general, larger cache sizes increases the write
performance but may lower simultaneous read performance. The
recommended size is 16 MB. The strategy of write operations results in a
completion signal being sent to the host operating system as soon as the
cache receives the data to be written. The disk drives receive the data at
a more appropriate time in order to increase controller performance.

Click CREATE to complete this process. A confirmation message tells you
that the array was successfully created.

Click CLOSE to close the message, then click CLOSE at the bottom of the
Create Array window to return to the Main window and monitor the
initialization.
During initialization, a progress bar appears under the array name, and the
disk drives in the enclosure front view display animated icons during the
initialization.
You can stop or pause the Initialization process by clicking the link located
to the right of the progress bar. Stopping the initialization causes your
array to be trusted. Pausing the initialization halts the process until you
select the
Resume option. For more information, see “Fault tolerance” on
