Using the Storage Assistant

Assisted automatic configuration

The StorView Storage Assistant is a wizard-like feature that automatically 
configures your storage system after you provide it with some basic information.

To use the Storage Assistant:

Open StorView, then click the 

Storage Assistant

 icon under 

Configuration

 on the 

Main

 window. The 

Storage Assistant 

opens.

On the I

ntroduction

 window, enter a name for the 

Configuration

, then 

click 

NEXT

.

Important

You can click 

PREVIOUS

 to move back

one window and make any necessary

changes.

The name is used to identify this storage solution. You can use up to 64 
characters, although only the first 25 characters are displayed.

Select a host server connection for this storage solution from the list of 
detected connections. Enter a name for this server connection, then click 

NEXT

.

If you have mixed SAS and SATA disk drives in your enclosure, the following 
window opens. If you do not have mixed drives go to the
