Care and maintenance
The device may only be opened by trained personnel and only the
maintenance tasks explicitly permitted by Festo may be carried out.
Other manipulations on the device will result in loss of the war-
ranty.
6.1
Cleaning
Clean the device if required with a soft, dry cloth.
6.2
Changing the battery
The central module is equipped with a real-time clock (RTC). When the supply voltage is
switched off, the real-time clock as well as configuration data and statistical data of the
diagnostic module are buffered in the main memory (SRAM) by means of a battery . With
the Festo Energy Monitoring GFDM diagnostic module, you can prepare the diagnostic
controller for a battery change (see system description "Festo Energy Monitoring
(GFDM)"). As part of this process, this data is stored on the Compact Flash memory card.
The battery life is at least 3 years. There is no notification of low battery voltage.
Recommendation: Replace the battery every 3 years.
The battery may only be replaced with a battery of the same type.
Only the following battery type is permitted:
-
Battery type: CR2032 (Lithium-Mn, 3 V/220 mAh).
Caution
Damage to components.
Switch off the power supply to the device before removing or
inserting the battery.
Caution
Short circuits can ignite flammable materials.
Even though batteries have a low voltage, if they short circuit they
can release enough current to ignite flammable materials.
Observe the regulations on hazardous waste when disposing of
batteries.
