• Opening the Enclosure Door

ZMA-330, Ver.6

PosiDRIVE Security Gate

Outputs

The PosiDRIVE Controller (Figure 1.9, on page 14) has the following external outputs:

■

Gate Up field output (connector JS2, 1 and 2). When the gate is down, outputs 1 and
2 are open. When the gate starts to travel upward, outputs 1 and 2 close (are
connected) until the gate starts to travel downward again.

■

System Fault relay output (connector JS2, 3 and 4). When there is a system fault,
outputs 3 and 4 are closed (connected). In a normal condition, outputs 3 and 4 are
open.

Opening the Enclosure Door

Gate installation, maintenance, and repair typically call for opening the gate enclosure to
access the gate’s electrical components.

The enclosure door, which has a single T-handle lock, can be easily removed by
unlocking the handle and lifting the door up and out. The door must be removed before
the enclosure cap can be unlatched and removed.

As the door is removed, the safety switch inside the door frame pops out to disconnect
power to the gate motor, ensuring that the drive mechanism does not actuate while gate
is open. This safety precaution is designed to prevent serious bodily injury.

If it is absolutely necessary to operate the gate with the cover removed, bypass the
switch by pulling the plunger out.

To reactivate the switch, depress the plunger fully.

Removing the Enclosure Cap

Gate installation, maintenance, and repair typically call for removing the gate enclosure
cap to access the gate’s drive mechanism.

If your hands are in the path of the gate mechanism and the
mechanism actuates, a severe injury, including dismemberment, can
occur.
