DIP Switches

The SW2 DIP switches (Figure 1.9, on page 14) control the following functions: 

■

Vend Counts

—DIP switch 1 is used to enable or disable vend counts. If switch 1 is 

open, vend counts are disabled; if switch 1 is closed, vend counts are enabled.

■

Backout Gate Reset Time

—DIP switches 3 and 4 are used to set the time, from 15 

seconds to 60 seconds, that the gate arm stays up until a vehicle passes through the 
gate. 

■

Gate Length

—DIP switches 5 and 6 are used to program the controller for the 

length of the gate arm.

■

Backout Gate Arm Timeout

—DIP switch 7 is used to indicate whether the gate 

arm remains raised for a specified period of time (determined by setting the Backout 
Gate Reset Time using DIP switches 3 and 4) or remains raised until the reset loop 
(B) is cleared.

■

Power Fail Raise—

DIP switch 8 is used to set the gate’s behavior when a power 

failure occurs.

Note:

For DIP switch setting instructions, see “Setting the DIP Switches” on page 42. 
Also note, DIP switch 2 is unused.

Inputs

The PosiDRIVE Controller (Figure 1.9, on page 14) has the following inputs to support 
gate operation:

■

Loop A (connector JS1-2). Input from an external vehicle detector indicating a 
presence on the A Loop. 

■

Loop B (connector JS1-3). Input from an external vehicle detector indicating a 
presence on the B Loop. 

■

Vend (connector JS1-4). Input from an external device signalling the gate to vend.

■

Raise/Lower (connector JS1-5). Input from an external device signalling the gate to 
raise. This would be used with an external operator switch, which when enabled, 
raises the gate.
