SEQUE NCER
What is it?
The CVI's SEQUENCER records a history of actions, and allows
accurate repetition of these. I t also allows 'editing' or
mod ification of this history, permitting you to hone a 'sequence'
of effects to perfection. The SEQUENCER also records a history
of any 'painting' motions made. Thus, i f some uncorrectable
mistake is made in the process of 'painting' an image, the
sequence can be replayed u p till the point that the mistake was
made, and the painting contin ued from there. This recording of a
painting i n progress is also useful as a form of animation.
The SEQUENCER does not record actual images, but rather the
process
of making the i mage. If the image is a modification of an
i mage acquired via the video input, this original image will have
to be duplicated for identical results. The first action in a
sequence should be the clearing of the screen in some way, usually
using a Colour or Stencil Wipe. If this is not done, replaying the
sequence will result in the building of the new image on top of
the old. To this end, the SEQUENCER always records the current
PRESET as the first step of a sequence to give a consistent
starting point.
When a sequence is recorded, the CVI will remember it until it
is changed, o r a new sequence is recorded. The CVI will even
remember i t after the power is switched off. If, however, you
desire to record a new sequence, but still be able to regain the old
one later, the old sequence should be digitally saved onto video
tape using the SAVE AND RECALL menu, or to a Compu ter
using RS232. (See Section 3 - SAVE AND RECALL Menu, and
