1. ESTEL
BOARD
The ESTEL board is a universal logic board of analog inputs/outputs for the 2M series analyzers. This
board is optional, and it is possible to install two ESTEL boards in an analyzer.
1.1
FUNCTION AND USE
The ESTEL board has four functions:
Four analog inputs
Four analog outputs
Six relays
Four remote controls
The ESTEL board enables dialog with the measurement module and assumes its input/output
functions. It allows remote control and/or remote signalling of certain status such as measurement,
zero, calibration, and alarm.
The analog inputs are used to connect independent monitors in order to follow up, for example,
meteorological data.
The analog outputs allow numeric parameters (e.g., gas concentration to be analyzed, MUX channels)
to be sent to analog-independent peripherals in order, for example, to store and process several
months of data.
The analyzer can work as an autonomous unit of analysis when equipped with an ESTEL board.
1.2 TECHNICAL
CHARACTERISTICS
Management by specialized microcontroller:
Four analog inputs of 12 bits, 0–2,5 volts full scale
Four non-insulated analog outputs, configurable into 0–1 volts, 0–10 volts, 0–20 mA, and 4–20 mA
(maximum load of 1000 Ohm)
Four insulated optocoupler logic inputs
Six potentially free contacts for remote signalling
One power supply of 8–24 volts
i2C communication visualization using a LED
Electrical connections:
Four-point connector for link with module boards of 2M series
Inputs/outputs centralized on one female connector SUB D37 points located on the rear panel of
the analyzer.
Option of external connection (see section 1.6)
Voltage and current on relays:
Maximum voltage by relay contact: 50 volts
Maximum current by relay contact: 1 ampere at 24 V DC (resistive load)
Remote control:
By dry contact (see section 1.3)
