Dates
European standardized sampling heads : (Figure 4–3)

Loosen the settling ring and separate the head from the sampling tube by simple vertical
pulling.
–
Remove the cover and the protection grid.
–
Brush the grid in order to remove any foreign body.
–
Remove the body from the head (a).
–
Clean the impact plate (with alcohol if necessary to remove fat) (b).
–
Pass a channel cleaning brush into the sampling channel.
–
Clean the eight orifices with compressed air (c).
–
Coat the impaction plate with silicon grease for vacuum.
US-EPA standardized PM10 inlet: (Figure 4–4)
–
Separate the head from the sampling tube by simple vertical pulling.
–
Empty and clean the decantation bottle.
–
Brush the inlet grid.
–
Put down the head by simple vertical pulling (a).
–
Pass a channel cleaning brush into the sampling channel.
–
Clean the three orifices with compressed air (b).
–
Remove the four screws from the top of the PM10 inlet (c).
–
Remove the top part (d).
–
Clean the inside and outside of the dirty parts with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol (e).
–
Dry the parts.
–
When cleaning is finished, reassemble the US-EPA standardized PM10 inlet.
US-EPA standardized VSCC

Disassemble the various parts of the VSCC

as shown in (a). No tool is required.
–
Clean the inside and outside (b) of the dirty parts with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol .
–
Dry the parts and check the o-rings ( change them if necessary).

Reassemble VSCC
