The Storage Control‘s temperature sensors have to be fitted in immersion sleeves in the storage tank – sensor no. 1 has to
be installed at the uppermost measuring point and sensor no. 4 at the lowest measuring point (Fig 5.22). Incorrect installation
will cause operational faults!
■
Make sure that the distance is identical between all four temperature sensors.
■
If there is more than one storage tank in the system, each must have its own Storage Control. The Q-Network detects the
sequence of the storage tanks automatically when in operation.
■
Make sure that all four Storage Control sensors are installed in the same storage tank.
■
Use a minimum of two Storage Control units if the storage tank volume exceeds 1,000 litres. The temperature sensors of the
respective Storage Control have to be fitted one after the other in the immersion sleeves – Storage Control no. 1: F1, F2, F3, F4,
and then Storage Control no. 2: F1, F2, F3, F4 (Fig. 5.23).
When installing the injection pipe from the Flow Master, ensure that the up to 85 °C hot water injected from the XRGI® system mixes
well with the main flow of heating water and that there is no temperature stratification in the pipe (particularly at low flow rates). For
this reason, connect the injection pipe tangentially to obtain thorough mixing.
Observe the following when installing the (PT100) temperature sensor:
■
Fit temperature sensors in immersion sleeves to obtain better and faster results.
■
Ensure that the direction of the heating water flow in vertical pipework runs upwards (ascending).
■
Ensure with horizontal pipes that the temperature sensors (in immersion sleeves) are installed from above
and the „drain“ and „injection line“ connections from below.
■
Distance of Tf from the injection line of the XRGI®/storage tank:
minimum 5 x D
(pipe diameter).
■
Distance of Tb from the injection line of the XRGI®/storage tank:
minimum 5 x D
(pipe diameter).
■
Distance of Tr to the drain of the XRGI®/storage vessel
maximum 5 x D
(pipe diameter).
